Quilt Entry

Quilt Show Registration Guidelines

  • We will be using the online entry process. Quilt registration link is here

  • Entry Deadline is April 15, 2024. A confirmation email will be sent to you that your entry has been accepted

  • If at anytime you need to withdraw your quilt or quilt sizes change, please let us know as soon as possible

  • Quilt show entries are open to PPQG members at no cost

    • New Generation Quilters ( ages 16 and younger) are exempt from payment

  • Non PPQG members will be charged $15 payable to the Guild treasurer at ppmgtreasurer@gmail.com

Quilt Show Categories:

Small (S): Max perimeter 160”.

·       Hand Quilted or Hand Applique. Made and hand quilted and/or hand appliqued by you

·       Self-machine quilted. Made and quilted by you on any size machine.

·       Machine quilted by someone else.

·       Kit, Workshop, or Store Sample

 

Medium (M): Max perimeter 280”.   Maximum length 85”

·       Hand Quilted or Hand Applique. Made and hand quilted and/or hand appliqued by you

·       Self-machine quilted. Made and quilted by you on any size machine.

·       Machine quilted by someone else.

·       Kit, Workshop, or Store Sample

 

Large (L):  More than 280” perimeter.  Maximum length 85”

·       Hand Quilted or Hand Applique. Made and hand quilted and/or hand appliqued by you.

·       Self-machine quilted.

·       Machine quilted by someone else.

·       Kit, Workshop, or Store Sample More than 280” perimeter.

 

Innovative Quilt (I):   Maximum perimeter 280”.   Maximum length 85”

·       Show us your original creation, using a variety of materials, not from a pattern or kit. Three dimensional elements such as fabric folding or embellishments are applicable.  Be sure to list all of the interesting materials you used.

 

New Generation Quilters (N).   Maximum perimeter 280”.   Maximum length 85”

·       For quilters 16 years of age or younger, this is for you.

·       The top should be pieced by the quilter, but the rest of the quilt may be completed, including cutting, quilting, and binding with assistance from a mentor.

·        

 Group Quilt (G). Maximum perimeter 280”.   Maximum length 85”

·       Completed by 3 or more people.

 

Modern Quilt (MO):    Maximum perimeter 280”.   Maximum length 85”

·       Modern quilts are functional quilts that include bold colors and are inspired by modern design.  Consider high contrast and graphic areas of solid colors, improvised piecing, minimalism, expansive negative space and alternate grid work

Assorted Quilted Items (A): 

·       Tablecloths, placemats, runners, bowls & boxes, bags, cushions, garments, any three-dimensional elements.  

Guild Challenge (P): Maximum perimeter 280”.   Maximum length 85”

·       Give recycled fabrics or material a second life.   75% of the top must be from recycled fabric or material that was not used in a previous quilt. Tell us what you started with. 

Look what I made from a Workshop (W):   Maximum perimeter 280”.   Maximum length 85”

·       For PPQ Guild workshops only

·       Non-members may enter if they participated in a PPQ Guild workshop.

Non-members may also enter their workshop items in the S, M, L categories.


Volunteers

We’re looking forward to having fun again this year. Those who are new members are especially encouraged to sign up as your quilting knowledge and contact with other members will GROW. Don’t be afraid to sign up for more than one shift – mix it up a little.
