Elinor Burwash spent her early days in rural Saskatchewan. Her pastimes included designing clothes for paper dolls. By age five she was making doll clothes from leftover scraps. Embroidery and knitting skills soon followed and all this resulted in a life-long passion for textiles. Elinor became a CQA certified Judge in 2017 and has judged in the Prairie Provinces. She has both juried and judged CQA’s National Juried Show. Most recently Elinor’s interests have turned to designing wool applique with embroidered embellishments along with more abstract art

Carole’s an award-winning quilt artist whose work has been juried into both art and quilt shows. Many of her works have been purchased - or specially commissioned - for private and public collections. She is currently preparing for a solo show in her local gallery, judging quilt shows, teaching workshops, and running a thriving longarm quilting business. She (sometimes) shares her creative exploits @ FreshofftheFrame.com, but is far more likely to post quick snippets on Instagram whenever she pauses to catch her breath!

The design of a piece always evolves during the creative process and the final quilt is often quite different from my original concept. Quilts are characterized by machine quilting often enhanced with a medley of beads or other embellishments. I am continuously inspired by the natural landscape, both locally and in my travels. Whether taking a walk or making a quilt I’m always off on a tangent so my quilt making meanders in unexpected directions. I am a fibre artist with a passion for learning new techniques and utilizing them in my art. Art quilts and landscape quilts have allowed me to use mixed media to design wall hangings, which reflect my joy of life.
