Exciting New Year

Well it is a New Year and a time for new and exciting things.  The executive of the guild is working hard to keep our meeting lively, on time and interesting.  The workshop committee has some great workshops coming up so be sure to check it out at our meeting.  We have a retreat coming up in March and while it is full its not to late to get your name on a wait list in case someone can't make it.  Our newsletter is as always informative and very professional looks.

The Program committee is starting off the year with a challenge, The Snip it, Rip it, Drop it, Pass it Challenge.  If you wish to participate in this challenge please bring 1 yard of batick fabric and a pair of scissors to the meeting.  The finished product from this challenge will be unveiled at the June 2015 meeting.

The Library committee has a list of books in the newsletter that are worth checking out and if those don't catch your eye they usually have a selection on the table near the library check out and of course we have several shelves overflowing with books downstairs in our library.  I am sure there is a great pattern waiting there for everyone to work on during these cold days of winter.

Connecting Threads is still going strong and still meeting check out their information here on the website.

We also have the 50/50 draw at every meeting and the portion that you win has been more than pocket change, enough usually for a cool quilting gadget or a yard or two of fabric, who wouldn't like a chance at that especially after Christmas.

My resolution, at least in relation to  my duties for the guild is to be better at updating the website and to get those bookmarks into the stores, libraries etc by the end of Jan.   I also hope to get some of my ufo's done.

I hope you included some quilting in your New Year's resolutions.  See you all at our January meeting.

Pam
